The vast majority of equatorial
by ranor
countries doesn*t use DST because there*s no reason to do so when the length of your days are pretty constant over the seasons.
That would be awesome
by ikimashokie
unless they went with dst as well. :/
The nice thing about living close
by ranor
to the equator is that time is easy to tell by the position of the sun in the sky at any time of the year. Sunrise? Must be 6 am!
I am quite far away

These are a few of my favorite things.

At least while I'm stuck up here. "Here" being the receptionist desk at my terribly dull company. You would think that pilots would be these interesting and exciting mavericks with stories up the wazoo and the charisma of greek sex gods. They aren't. They are old midwesterners with white hair and dark tans - George Hamilton look alikes.

Why did I volunteered my precious summer days to cover the front desk while our dear receptionist is recovering from foot surgery? Why would I do such a thing? Well this simple equation explains a lot:
More Hours = More Money = Less Debt

At least I was able to finially finished my research report on photovoltaic systems and have found that like most environmentaly friendly practices, they just aren't worth the flippin' trouble.

I decided to check out the company's employee library. I was surprised to find a little hardcover entitled "Tales from the Bed". Excited about the naughtiness that was to come from reading erotica while answering the phones in my best sultry voice, "Good Afternoon, How can I help you?" - I plucked the book from the shelf. Upon closer inspectation I read the subtitle: "on living, dying and having it all". Well, summer was feeling a bit too lighthearted.

How incredibly depressing.

My summer reading thus far has consisted of novels depicting post-apocalyptic futures, as well as 1984, which might as well be set in a post-apocalyptic future. I'm such a cheery soul.

P.S.
Shall we grab a coffee or something of the sort before I go away again?

I should probably call you but I can't find my freaking phone. I'll try Facebook.
